Why Lake Chelan is Exactly Where You Need to Be This Summer

Is it just us or does this summer feel extra special? The past year and a half has been full of social distancing, businesses operating at reduced capacity, and lots and lots of canceled plans. As the world begins to slowly open up, the thrill of new opportunities and adventures is hitting us hard. We’re not sure how you’re feeling, but we’re ready to make up for some lost time. We think Lake Chelan is the place to be this summer. Here’s our take on how to make the most of Summer 2021 in the Lake Chelan Valley!

Wine Tasting Galore

With over 30 wineries, cideries, and breweries sprinkled throughout the valley, you could spend an entire summer working your way through each and every one. The styles, qualities, and personalities of each winery vary wildly and we love seeing what each place has to offer. Try Rhône-inspired wines at Cairdeas Winery, delight in woodfired pizza with your wine at Siren Song Vineyard Estate and Winery, escape to an Italian vista at Tsillan Cellars or chow down on delicious barbecue at Lake Chelan Winery. You’ll be a wine tasting pro in no time as you learn what to look for when tasting and what you like most in a wine, cider, or beer. Best of all, you’ll have a blast tasting around the valley with family and friends (as many of our local wineries are family-friendly.) We’ll cheers to that!

Vitamin D

We could all use a healthy dose of Vitamin D. The Lake Chelan Valley offers more than enough of the good stuff. Get out and under the sun this summer – it’s good for you! After a summer in Lake Chelan, you’ll be feeling revitalized and energetic. The 300 days of sunshine are a major reason why we fall in love with this valley over and over…and over again.

Water Fun

This season is a hot one and we can’t think of a better way to spend it than out on the water. Let the cool, clear waters of Lake Chelan wash over and rejuvenate you. There are countless ways to enjoy Lake Chelan that go beyond just jumping in. Some of our favorites include parasailing for a bird’s-eye-view of the valley, renting a boat via Shoreline Watercraft and Boat Rentals for an afternoon of wakeboarding or water-skiing, or attempting early morning yoga on a stand-up paddleboard with our friends at YogaChelan. If you’re a fisher, don’t limit yourself to the waters of Lake Chelan. Try your luck at Wapato, Dry, Roses, or Antilon Lakes, located in the hills of Manson, for rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and more!

Small Town Charm

There’s something incredibly charming about small towns when they’re brimming with life. During the summer months, tourists and locals alike bring a sense of wonder and excitement to the usually quiet streets of downtown Chelan and Manson. Enjoy Music in the Park every 1st and 3rd Sunday from 6-8pm throughout the summer for live music and dancing by the Chelan River or check out the evening Farmer’s Market every Thursday from 2-6pm. As the sun sets and the sky lights up with vibrant purples, oranges, and pinks, downtown comes alive with music, dancing, and liveliness. Trust us when we say this is right where you want to be this summer.

Have we convinced you yet? There’s no place to be this summer besides Lake Chelan. We’ve got the wine, the water, and the endless good times. See you soon!
