5 Ways To Get Out On The Lake

We’ll go ahead and state the obvious – Lake Chelan is gorgeous. When making the decision to buy a home in Chelan, the lake usually plays a big role. With the Cascade Mountains as a backdrop, the 50.5 mile long, glacier-fed lake offers endless opportunities for fun. To take full advantage of its beauty, get out on the crystal clear waters in these 5 different ways.

SWIM
There’s nothing quite like a dip in Lake Chelan on a hot, hot summer day. Head to a local park, like Don Morse or Lakeside Park in Chelan, and Manson Bay Park or Willow Point in Manson – or enjoy a dip in your own private pool.

RIDE THE WAVES
Pick up speed and ride the wake of a boat on a wakeboard, waterskis or surfboard. Head out for an early morning ride when the water is calm and you can have the lake all to yourself. Rent a boat and board or skis from a local water sports company to get started!

KAYAK
Get out and explore the lake via kayak by yourself or with a partner! Kayaking on the lake lets you get up close and personal with the cool, refreshing water. Paddle along the shoreline and admire the beauty of the valley. Rent a kayak from LakeRider Sports on the waterfront at Don Morse Park, where you can launch directly from the beach and get out on the water in no time!

SUP BOARD
Stand up paddleboarding is a fun activity for all ages and skill levels. This low-intensity water sport has been gaining popularity in recent years and it’s easy to see why! If you’re just starting out, stay near the shore and enjoy a leisurely paddle. If you’re more experienced, try a stand up paddle board yoga class with YogaChelan. SUP boards can also be rented from LakeRider Sports.

PARASAIL
See the lake from a unique vantage point as you’re towed from behind a boat and gliding through the air above. Reeled out on an 800-foot line, you’ll be treated to 360-degree views you won’t get anywhere else. On your way back in, dip your toes in the water. From start to finish, it’s a thrilling and unforgettable adventure. For more information or to make a reservation, visit ChelanParasail.com.

However you decide to hit the lake this summer, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The beautiful waters of Lake Chelan mean so much to us. And we’re so grateful to share it with you.
